TREASURE COAST CHORALE OFFERS “THERE’S NO BUSINESS LIKE SNOW BUSINESS” ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18
Vero Beach, FL -- The 60-voice Treasure Coast Chorale’s concert on November 18th will celebrate SNOW in all its crystal glory at the First Baptist Church in Vero Beach at 7 p.m. The music featured will showcase popular songs about snow, that glorious winter weather condition that many Floridians never experience.
Dr. Michael Carter, Director of the Chorale says, “Even if it’s warm outside, we’ll offer a January chill to our audience. They might even see some white flakes in the air and a snowball or two.”
Currently being rehearsed are “Blue Christmas” recorded by Elvis Presley, two songs, “Do You Wanna Make A Snowman” and “Let it Go”, from Disney’s animated feature “Frozen”, Leroy Anderson’s iconic “Sleigh Ride” written in 1948, and several medleys about snowy winters and white holidays. Solos and small group pieces round out the concert as well as the traditional sing-along as the audience joins in the energy of the evening.
The Chorale is celebrating its sixteenth year as a community chorus of experienced voices singing four very popular free concerts a season for Vero Beach audiences. On December 16 and 17, 2017, the First Baptist Church along with this chorale and 100 singers from choirs throughout the county will present the 48th annual production of Handel’s “Messiah” with full orchestra and soloists. Other concerts will take place in March and May, 2018.
Featured musicians on November 18th will be Judy Carter on the piano, singer Glenn Orndorff, guitarist Dave Mundy, drummer Richie Mola and Vero’s renowned oldies singing trio “The Dolls.”
Please note that this concert by the Treasure Coast Chorale is being performed on Saturday, November 18 instead of the usual Sunday night. Held at the First Baptist Church, 2206 16th Ave., Vero Beach, doors will open at 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. evening performance for early seating. There are no tickets needed and no admission charge but the audience will be asked to give generously to help offset the costs of this musical gift to the community. Suggested donation is $10 per person. The church is handicapped accessible.
